Configuring WebDrive 7.22

WebDrive is a program that serves as a means to transfer files to and from a remote location, such as your Andromeda or Pegasus account area. It also can be configured as a secure replacement for programs that use only the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which has been decommissioned. WebDrive allows faculty, staff and students to manage their home directory on Andromeda or Pegasus, or to publish web pages from their home or office computer. By installing and configuring WebDrive, your home directory on Andromeda or Pegasus can be accessed just like any other drive on your PC, such as C:\ drive, D:\ drive or others.

1.   Start WebDrive.

2.  Click the New Site button.

3.  In the Site Wizard window, enter the name for the site you will be connecting to, then click Next.

4.  Click the drop down arrow and select SFTP (ssh) under Server type.

5.  Enter the Server information under Enter the URL for the Server.

6.  Click Next, and then select a drive letter.

7.  Click Next.

8.  Enter your Username and Password. (This is your Andromeda or Pegasus NetID and corresponding password.)

9.  Click Finish.
