Configuring Outlook Express 6.X with SSL

1. Start Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Accounts. 

2 Click the Mail tab. In the Account box, select the IMAP or POP account you want to change.

3. Click the Properties button

4. Click the Servers tab.

5. You should see andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu in the Server Information section.

6. Click theMy server requires authentication box.

7.  Click the Settings button. Then check the Use same settings as my incoming mail server button under the Logon Information section.

8.  Click OK. Then click the Advanced tab.

9. In the Server Port Numbers section, check the box This server requires a secure connection (SSL) under the Incoming Mail (IMAP) or (POP3) sections

10. Click Apply, click OK, and then click Close.

11. Click File, and then Exit to exit Outlook Express. Outlook Express will need to be restarted to ensure changes have been applied.

12. Restart Outlook Express.
